Cantemus Domino spring concert 29.4.12

Here's the result of me and my brother accompanying Cantemus Domino (http://goo.gl/7uVla, http://goo.gl/9UZG5, http://goo.gl/ffB7w) at their spring concert entitled 'Hits met pit!!!'.

Since we both had performed Bohemian Rhapsody and Stairway to heaven twice (with the Hassel nuts and D.C.Belles Band), we had only one rehearsal with the choir and pianist (which is actually not much given the time I spend on the guitar nowadays).

It was also the first time I could try out my active monitors in stereo (http://goo.gl/TSMhC), though the time was limited to set them up properly and link them through the mixer to the Bose portable line arrays.

Here's the footage of those two songs:

Stairway to heaven:

Bohemian Rhapsody:

I'm not very happy with my bends though (not hearing myself enough could be the reason, or I just wasn't feeling comfortable enough on my Custom double neck), and I think the end of the first song is missing some measures, but overall, I'm quite happy how this turned out given the limited amount of time spent to practise and rehearsals. The choir, pianist and drummer all did a marvellous job!

The credits:

  • Choir: Cantemus Domino, Montenaken (and Cantus Vocum, Genk, but I am lacking video footage of their performance, except for the final song where both choirs are singing together).
  • Conductor: Kris Appeltans
  • Piano: Mark Knuts
  • Drums: Koen Rogiers
  • Guitar: Bart Rogiers
  • Sound: Johan Froeyen
  • Camera: Freddy Rogiers

The other songs can be found on my youtube channel. Two higher quality sound recordings are online as well: Viva la vida and Bohemian Rhapsody.
